Desktop Devices
Pickolo lets you connect desktop devices (Windows, macOS) to your restaurant for a larger-screen ordering and management experience. Desktop devices are managed from the mobile app — you pair, monitor, and revoke access from your phone.
Pairing a Desktop Device
Desktop devices generate a pairing QR code that you scan from the mobile app.
- On the desktop app, a pairing QR code is displayed (contains a
pickolo://pair?code=XXXXdeep link) - On your mobile app, navigate to the Pickolo page in the bottom navigation
- Find Desktop Devices in the list and tap it
- Scan the desktop's QR code or enter the pairing code manually
- The desktop device is now connected to your restaurant
Tip: Pair all desktop devices during initial setup so your team is ready before opening.
Device Status
Each paired device shows its current connection status:
- Online — Device is connected and active (based on heartbeat)
- Offline — Device is paired but not currently running
- Revoked — Access has been revoked; device can no longer connect
The device list shows platform icons (Windows, macOS) for easy identification.
Revoke Device Access
If a device is lost or no longer needed, revoke its access from the mobile app. This immediately disconnects it and prevents any future access.
- Go to the Pickolo page → Desktop Devices
- Find the device in the list
- Tap Revoke Device and confirm
Tip: Revoke access promptly when a device is no longer in use. This is an important security measure.
Admin PIN
You can set a 6-digit Admin PIN to protect admin features on your desktop devices. This prevents unauthorized staff from accessing sensitive settings on shared desktop stations.
The Admin PIN is configured from the Desktop Devices management screen on your mobile app.
