Payments

Pickolo supports multiple payment methods and provides tools for quick payments, payment templates, and tipping. This chapter covers Pickolo.Pay — the payment template system for creating reusable payment QR codes.

Pickolo.Pay Overview

Pickolo.Pay lets you create payment templates with predefined products and prices. Each template generates a unique QR code that customers can scan to pay instantly — perfect for counter service, bar tabs, or fixed-price items like a lunch special.

Create a Payment Template

  1. Navigate to the Pickolo.Pay page
  2. Tap Generate Pay QR to create a new template
  3. Add a name for the template (e.g., "Lunch Special", "Coffee To-Go")
  4. Add products with their prices
  5. Save the template

Each template generates a QR code that customers scan to pay the predefined amount. You can create as many templates as needed for different items or combos.

Manage Templates

Your templates appear as a list on the Pickolo.Pay page. Each shows the template name, total amount, and active/inactive status.

  • To activate or deactivate a template, open the menu on the template and select Activate/Deactivate
  • To edit a template, tap it to open the editor
  • To share the QR code, tap the share icon on any template

Tip: Deactivate seasonal templates instead of deleting them — you can reactivate them later.

Payment Methods

Pickolo supports three payment methods across all order types:

  • Cash — Traditional cash payment handled at the register
  • Card — Online card payment processed through Stripe (includes Apple Pay, Google Pay)
  • Room — Charge to a hotel room (for restaurants in hotel properties)

Payment methods can be enabled or disabled in Settings.

Tips

Customers can add a tip during checkout. The available tip percentages are 0%, 10%, 15%, and 20%.

Tips are tracked separately from product revenue and appear in your Dashboard statistics broken down by payment method.

Tip: Tips from card payments are included in your Stripe balance and can be withdrawn along with product revenue.
